Celebrating visual art of the human form / Célébrer l’art visuel de la forme humaine

Figureworks 2017

Congratulations to Nicole Sleeth our 2017 first prize winner with her piece title Karen and the 40 artist finalists included in the 2017 show for this year's Figureworks prize. 45 artworks we're selected from over 300 entries received from across Canada, the United States, Cyprus and Bolivia. There was $5000 in cash prizes awarded along and sponsorship awards are valued at a further $1100.

We held the Figureworks exhibition at St. Brigid’s Centre for the Arts, a historic church transformed into a beautiful exhibition space right in the heart of Ottawa’s beautiful Byward Market. The vernissage featured appetizers prepared by Chef Matthew Iley and a musical performance presented by Folkrum showcasing renowned Ottawa musicians Joan Harrison and Roddy Ellias.
