Lauren Foster-MacLeod is a visual artist whose main love is to portray the human figure. Born and raised in Montréal, Lauren started attending art classes as a child at the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts Saturday program. Further studies in her teens in portrait sculpture, printmaking and painting led to attending the Banff Centre, and then to various art schools in Québec and Ontario. Majoring in Painting and Printmaking, Lauren graduated from Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and moved to Ottawa in 1979. She has pursued illustration work and now concentrates on life studies of the figure, as well as portrait work.
